Today I had the pleasure of meeting Rachel. She is a Freshman at California State Long Beach. She is majoring in Psychology. She is from Long Beach like me. Whoo hooo!! She went to Wilson high school. On her free time she enjoys photography and going to the beach. She also enjoys watching comedies and enjoys the movie La La Land( me tooooo!!!)
I loved going to the garden. I am a junior at CSULB and have not visited the garden once while attending CSULB. Which is sad, because I forgot how beautiful and serene it was. I have been to this garden three time. Once, when I was in a stroller, so I do not really remember, also on a school field trip in elementary school, and lastly with my uncle. I loved going to the garden because it was so relaxing and amazing. I enjoyed looking at all of the plants, trees, and especially the Koi fish. I was not expecting the fish to be that big( see photos below). I was put in a trance when watching the Koi fish swim around. I found myself gazing down at the pond for a few minutes. When I was sketching, I noticed little details such as lilies, ducks, different leaves and so on. I will definitely be coming back to the garden soon! Sketching in the garden is one of my favorite activities we have done this semester. Thanks Glenn!
Below are some photos of the Japanese Garden:
Note: The Koi fish were huge! I was not expecting that.
Today I had the pleasure of speaking with Misty. Right of the bat we connected on a lot of topics. One topic as you can guess is… yes Nursing! We both aspire to become nurses. She has always enjoyed helping people and enjoys socializing with people. She is a junior at CSULB. She is currently undeclared and hoping to declare Kin- Exercise science in the fall. After, she hopes to pursue nursing and eventually become a nurse practitioner. On her free time she enjoys dessert hunting with her boyfriend. Fun! She recommended many cool places for me to check out one of them being Rollin Creamery.
